Children’s book author R. Fowler is a former middle school social studies and special education teacher whose newly released illustrated picture book, Liam the Autistic T. Rex Goes to School© , shines a light on autism through a heartwarming and entertaining story.
Fowler, whose young son Liam is autistic, was inspired to write his book through watching Liam’s love for dinosaurs. Fowler believes a children’s story should have a meaning and purpose and, for his picture book, he hopes to introduce young readers to what autism is and to educate them about acceptance and inclusion.
When he isn’t busy writing powerful stories for children, Fowler enjoys family time in their solar- heated pool, running, working out, and family trips to the Gulf of Mexico. He and his wife Dawn live with their children Liam and Reagan, along with two dogs and three cats, in Longwood, Florida, a suburb of Orlando where he works at Universal Studios. Liam the Autistic T. Rex Goes to School© is Fowler’s debut book, the first in a series.
